TaylorMade OB Sports National Team Championship

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz . – The TaylorMade OB Sports National Team Championship presented by adidas Golf will be held December 10 through Sunday, December 12, 2010 at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, located in Fort McDowell, Arizona (Phoenix/Scottsdale metro area). The first round of the two-round competition will be played on We-Ko-Pa’s Cholla Course on Saturday, December 11, and the second round will be played on the Saguaro Course the following day. Optional practice rounds are available for participants on Friday, December 10 at OB-managed clubs in the Phoenix metro area including Longbow Golf Club, Palm Valle! y Golf Club and Eagle Mountain Golf Club. Eagle Mountain Golf Club will be hosting practice round festivities that Friday including TaylorMade demonstration and putting challenge along with the Ashworth Golf Welcome Reception (from 3:30 – 5:30 in the Eagle Mountain Overlook Pavilion).

In total 136 national qualifiers are participating in the event, representing sixteen OB Sports affiliated golf clubs from throughout the United States. Each team will field an eight-person team (grouped together in four, two-person teams) made up of seven qualifiers from the club and the club’s golf professional. Daily prizes will be awarded to the top three two-person teams from each flight (Scratch Flight/low gross 1st, 2nd, 3rd place; A Flight, low net 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and B Flight, low net 1st, 2nd, 3rd place). In addition, a prize will be awarded for the overall TaylorMade/OB Sports Team Championship: each of the teams post its best three, two-person-team net scores, across both days of competition, and the team with the lowest net score is crowned overall champion. The defending champion is the team from High Meadow Ranch in Houston Texas, who capture! d the 2009 event that was held in Las Vegas at Aliante Golf Club and The Legacy Golf Club. Other past team champions include Tijeras Creek Golf Club (2008) and Sandia Golf Club (2007).

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The 2009 Frys.com Open will tee it up in Scottsdale in a little more than six weeks and already a solid field is beginning to take shape.
